Scope and purpose
Last updated: 27 October 2026.
The Industrial Base is a company discovery directory focused initially on industrial automation and components. This policy explains how we organize company records and handle submissions, corrections and representative claims.
What belongs in the directory
We consider businesses with a relevant industrial role, including manufacturers, distributors and suppliers, automation companies, system integrators and industrial service providers. A useful submission identifies the business, its official website, its work and a recorded business location.
A submission does not guarantee inclusion. We may ask for supporting information, decline an out-of-scope or unverifiable request, or combine duplicate submissions into an existing company record. One business should have one company profile rather than repeated listings under multiple categories.
Sources and factual scope
We use official company sources and information supplied by applicants or approved representatives. Profiles preserve source links, the scope of the source check and relevant dates. A check date records a review of the cited material; it is not continuous monitoring or a guarantee that every detail remains current.
Unknown information should remain unknown. A company’s business role or address does not establish every service it offers or every country it serves. Brand relationships describe recorded business activity and do not by themselves establish authorized dealer status, certification or endorsement.
Applications and corrections
An applicant verifies their account email before submitting a listing, claim or correction. Applications enter an editorial review process and are not published automatically. We assess the proposed information and supporting sources before accepting or changing a record.
Corrections can be suggested by visitors with a verified account, including people who do not manage the company. A correction request does not grant editing access. Please identify the specific information and provide official evidence where possible.
Representative access and claim labels
A representative claim is reviewed separately from email verification. We may ask for evidence of the applicant’s relationship to the business. An approved representative may save private profile drafts and submit updates for review; those changes do not immediately replace the public record.
Claim status describes representative access on this platform. It is not a rating, legal verification, certification or endorsement of the business. The visibility of claim invitations and status labels is an editorial presentation setting; a missing label should not be interpreted as proof that a company has or has not participated.
Commercial presentation
Basic company submissions are free. Enhanced presentation, featured placements or content collaborations may be offered under separate arrangements. Where a placement or article is paid for, its commercial nature should be identifiable to readers.
Commercial participation does not remove the need for accurate information and supporting sources. We do not promise search rankings, enquiries, transactions or business outcomes.
Maintenance and removals
We may update, consolidate or remove records when information changes, a business is no longer relevant or a record cannot be maintained responsibly. If a profile contains inaccurate or inappropriate information, contact us with the profile URL and supporting details.
